Hi everyone.
There is now a 54% tariff on all incoming products from China and other similarly high tariffs on nearly all countries. This affects all tabletop games.
Things aren’t good right now. My peers in the industry agree. We are all working to find solutions to this problem.
Bottom line though? Prices on all products, not just tabletop games, will be going up. There is no two ways about this.
However, at Speedrobo Games, we already manufactured most of our products in house and in Illinois. We will continue to do so and rely more on this method going forward. While we still have a wonderful relationship with several overseas manufacturers, this new tax will make it very hard to work with them going forward.
Even with our in house production methods, you will still see an increase in prices this year. Much of our paper comes from Canada, for example. We will not have to increase our prices as much as we would if we manufactured everything overseas, but with the inflationary nature of these across the board tariffs, it will be to some extent inevitable.
Speedrobo Games has always positioned itself as the budget friendly family games company and that will not be changing.
