Hello Casters,
We have some big news today. A number of cards from the first wave of The Caster Chronicles product are receiving some slight adjustments. Below you can see the first wave of errata.
These changes are to correct text errors on cards and to make small gameplay adjustments for overall game health in constructed play going forward. We care very strongly about making sure that The Caster Chronicles is the best it can be. We would also like to extend the biggest of thanks to our fans who voiced their opinions on, and playtested these cards in our Discord server. We will continue to make fan feedback a priority going forward.
So, let’s talk about how these errata will be distributed!
Since the Kickstarter copies are currently being printed, those products will have the cards with the incorrect text sealed inside. However, we are printing errata cards that will go out with each order of the relevant products.
This ensures that all players that are preordering are aware of the changes and have the tools on hand to adjust accordingly, regardless of how close attention they pay to our website and newsfeeds.
These errata cards will be printed in the USA like our demo decks. This means that they will be on slightly different card stock when compared to the full print run. However, when sleeved, you should not be able to easily tell the difference. So, if you are sleeving your decks, simply replace the incorrect cards with the corrected ones.
However, if you are not sleeving your deck, or if you believe your particular sleeves do not mask any difference enough, you may continue to play with the cards that have the incorrect text and use the corrected copy as an out of deck reference card for your opponents.
Furthermore, all of the errata cards will be reprinted as randomized foil insert cards in EX02 Gifted Program. This will give players another way to get their hands on the corrected text down the line.
Finally, we want to make clear that the only products that will be affected are the Kickstarter printings of DD02, DD03, DD04, and EX01. Future printings of these cards and products will have the correct text.
