WHAT IS THE CASTER CHRONICLES?
The Caster Chronicles is a card game where players take on the role of a “Witch”, also known as a “Caster”. Battle it out with other Witches and Casters in the πth Dimension using cards to summon Familiars and Servants, call on your Magical Caster allies to aide you, cast powerful spells, and alter the very state of the πth Dimension itself! Destroy all 7 Orbs protecting your opponent to win!
Our story follows Tsubasa Koga and her adventures as a witch in training at Morning Star Academy, the best magical academy in Japan. She and her friends in the 49th Class will meet many friends and rivals from all over. The 50th Class of Morning Star Academy, rival students from Jashin Academy, and threats from the πth Dimension itself! Who knows, maybe during her adventures she’ll even end up joining your deck? Have fun, Caster!
The Caster Chronicles originally launched in 2017 and was discontinued in English in 2019. Now we at Speedrobo Games are thrilled to be relaunching the game and allowing all new audiences to experience the amazing world of The Caster Chronicles for the first time and enjoy it along side veteran fans of the series.

WHEN CAN I PLAY THE CASTER CHRONICLES?
The new Caster Chronicles Card game products will be releasing June 18th 2026. The product will be available to pick up and play immediately at Origins Game Fair in Columbus Ohio. We will be holding launch events where you will get to play with the brand new cards during the convention! You will be able to order the game online through both speedrobogames.com and Kickstarter. There will be no difference between the products offered on Speedrobo Games official website, Origins Game Fair, or through this Kickstarter. This Kickstarter will start taking preorders in April 2026 and run until the end of Origins Game Fair 2026.
Additionally, if you want to play RIGHT NOW we have a Tabletop Simulator mod ready to go. Furthermore, you can purchase demo decks or print them yourself for free by going to this link.
WHAT’S NEW AND DIFFERENT WITH THE NEW PRODUCTS?
The answers is both a lot and not much at the same time. While this is a fresh new start for Caster Chronicles and essentially a reboot, the gameplay will not be seeing significant changes at all. Here are the changes.
- Both players will start with a “Caster Token” in play regardless of who goes first. This “Caster Token” works exactly like the coin did in the previous TCG. This is to help balance first move advantage and to help make the game more immersive as this “Caster Token” is meant to represent the player themself as a Caster in the Magical Duel! We encourage players to draw themselves onto the blank Caster Tokens that will be included in Duel Deck products. Additionally, players can design and print their own Caster Token using this online tool.
- The “Void” element is now a dedicated element that refers to this specific symbol (
)and cards with it. Cards that are face down do not produce “Void” aether and only produce “aether of no element”. This non-elemental aether cannot be used to pay for the one required point of “Void” aether needed to play “Void” cards. - You can no longer Level up your Casters by placing them on top of face down cards in your Caster zone. This is to prevent “good stuff pile” decks from occurring as easily. You must now Level Up your high level Casters on top of Casters that share their name.
- Caster cards will now check for Subname and Traits instead of just name when checking for unique status. This means that you may have two Casters of the same name on the field so long as those two Casters have different Subnames and/or Traits.
Outside of gameplay, there are a few other changes to the overall products that you can expect.
When it comes to the visuals, you will notice that there is now our company logo at the bottom of every card. We will be altering the card borders slightly. These alterations will include Barrier cards getting a distinct card border to make them stand out when compared to Conjure cards. Caster cards will be getting a dedicated field on their card for their “Traits” where as previously Casters had traits placed in text bubbles that were previously reserved for Keywords. We will be including the Element Symbols in card text when elements are referenced to make it easier for players to tell what element is what.
In regards to product design, The Caster Chronicles card game will no longer be a traditional TCG. Instead we are moving towards a more Expandable Card Game like route. This method has proven to be very successful with other revived card games in the past, such as Android Netrunner, and we believe it to be the correct direction forward for the game. This direction will allow us to put a greater emphasis on gameplay and its far more affordable price point and casual entry will allow us to expand the game to all new audiences far easier than if it was still a Trading Card Game. The main products for The Caster Chronicles card game will be Duel Decks and Expansion Packs. These will be new products featuring new mixes of cards and NOT straight reprints of the old products. Duel Decks are two preconstructed decks in one product. This is meant to be an easy way for two players to enjoy playing The Caster Chronicles right away. Expansion Packs will be similar to booster packs. However, these packs will be more like “Jumpstart”. Each Set will have 8 possible clusters of 5 cards to collect. Each cluster will be one single element and always the same. There will also be foil cards in each pack that are randomized and collectable versions of the cards that are easily obtainable in non-foil forms. We understand that there is a large group of fans that enjoyed collecting the Caster Cards in the game instead of focusing on the play of the game. We do not plan to let you down either. We think you will enjoy the expansion pack opening experience and collecting all the variant editions of the Caster Cards.

WILL YOU RE-RELEASE THE OLD CARDS?
Yes! The new Caster Chronicles card game will start off by reprinting the old cards and remixing them into new products. You can expect slight changes to how some of the cards play.
We will also be translating and releasing the cards that were previously only in the Japanese edition for the game. This will give what are effectively all new cards to old fans to collect and enjoy. To top it off, we will be doing new alternate arts for existing cards, and will eventually be creating all new cards exclusive to this new version of The Caster Chronicles. Our first priority will be to re-release the old cards with updates. Following that, we will translate the unreleased cards. Finally, after all of that, we will begin to work on totally original cards. This will be a long process, so we thank you for your kind understanding.
Players new and old will be able to relive the exciting battles of the original Caster Chronicles TCG while enjoying all new content as well.
WILL I BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH MY OLD CARDS?
YES! The last thing we at Speedrobo Games want is to invalidate the collections of our dedicated fans. (Our CEO is a huge fan, you should see his binder sometime. It’s loaded!) So, with the new product and new players coming in, how will it be possible for old players to continue to duel with their old cards? Two ways.
- Standard Format. This format will be the default way to play The Caster Chronicles moving forward. In Standard Format, only cards that have been printed with the “Speedrobo Games” paint swipe at the bottom will be legal for play. HOWEVER, if you have an old version of a card that does have the paint swipe you may put that old version into your deck SO LONG AS you also bring a copy of the new card (or just a print out) to show that the card is legal and what its errata text is (if any). When you play the old version of the card, show your new copy to your opponent to prove that it is a legal card for Standard Format. The old products for The Caster Chronicles TCG are very hard to obtain these days and we want our new players to feel comfortable joining in with only the new products. We feel that Standard format is the perfect way to do that.
- Alumi Format. In Alumi Format all cards of all printings are legal and are played TEXT AS IS! Errata’s are off the table! Enjoy the full power of all of your cards and every mechanic that Caster Chronicles has ever had. Even the Japan only cards are legal in this format so long as you can translate the text for your opponent. Have fun!

WHAT ABOUT EVENTS, TOURNAMENTS, AND GAME STORES?
We at Speedrobo Games are no strangers to running events, hosting tournaments, and supporting game stores. Let’s talk about our plans for all three.

The main tournament will be Standard Format with side events for Alumni depending on participation.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE OLD COMICS AND OTHER MEDIA?
Don’t worry! We have managed to recover most of the supplementary media for The Caster Chronicles despite the original website going down. We will be making sure to archive and preserve as much of that content as we can. In fact, we are already posting the comics! We are posting the original versions and all new translations for everyone to enjoy. Game preservation is very important to us at Speedrobo Games and that was a major motivator for us picking up The Caster Chronicles. We will be posting all of the old media over time. We appreciate your patience as we prepare it for our website!
We even made some all new media for the game. For example, you can click here to take a fun personality test to see what element you belong to!

WILL YOU BE CHANGING THE ARTWORK?
It’s no secret that in The Caster Chronicles TCG’s first run, many of the card arts were edited. We will be continuing and keeping this censorship policy in the mainline English products. However, collectors need not worry! Part of our robust store support plan is to release the original and unedited artwork on promotional cards. These “Lost Art” cards will be sent out to all participating store partners to use as tournament prizes, purchase incentives, or however else the store wishes to distribute them to their players. Additionally, Lost Arts may become available as prizes in Speedrobo Games official events. If you as a player and collector wish to get your hands on the original Japanese artworks for the first time ever, make sure you contact your local game store. Tell them to reach out to us here and we will make sure they get on our mailing list to receive our promotional card packages COMPLETELY FOR FREE! Furthermore, we are in contact with many members of the original art team. So once we reach the point where all new cards need to be made, we will be talking to them first.

Hey there Cardfolk, Rhydon Vassay, here. Thank you for taking the time to read this page and make it to the bottom. It really means a lot to me that you are as interested in The Caster Chronicles as I am. I fell in love with this game nearly a decade ago and it’s been my dream to work on it ever sense. Now here we are and my company gets to lead the charge on Caster Chronicles second shot at the western market. This game’s imaginative story, immaculate gameplay, care for detail, and wacky styles made me say “wow! There really is no other game like Caster Chronicles”. Thank you for being here and I’ll see you in the πth Dimension. I’ll be playing my Silva deck 😉
